Imovie

I didn't realize imovie could make such detailed movies. I think its great to learn how to do these things, students these days are very technologically advanced and I think they respect teachers and faculty who understand how to use it and make class interesting. It also helped me grasp the concept better when I had to watch a picture over and over again then simulate it to my narration I think it really helped me understand the Utah Core objective in a way I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise.

8 - When we want to share a podcast that we've created we select the "share" menu item and select the "Export podcast to disk" option. To save your podcast in garageband type in your desired filename and click save. After it is saved you'll need to navigate back to your garageband folder. When you get to that folder your new file should be there. If the Finder is set up to show filename extensions you'll also see the extension "m4a" on the end of your file, or if it's set up to show files in columns, the "Kind" column will show that this file is an "mpg4 audio file". This is a compressed file format that can be used by several software applications, including iTunes.

Civil War

http://www.teachertube.com/viewVideo.php?video_id=434&title=The_American_Civil_War&ref=Sgfitz

The video posted above does a good job of blending original work with historical pictures. Because the pictures were all taken in the 1860s it appears copyright laws were not violated by using them. The music provided as background music was never cited, it could have been taken from freeplay music but a citation would be nice. There are no citations of anykind during the film or at the end, even if the music and pictures were obtain legally it should still be cited although it was used for an educational purpose.

Six Day War

The video seems to break a lot of copyright rules. It lasts for four minutes and to show it in a classroom I feel would be a violation since I didn't purchase the the video from an actual source.
